Top 3 Vibrant Communities | October 24 – 28
October 28, 2016 by Blandin Foundation
1. Detroit Lakes: for local leaders standing up to welcome and engage each other for the strength of their community during a “Meet Your Muslim Neighbors” night earlier this month.
2. Minnesota Region 5: for veterans collaborating across counties to secure funding for their most prominent needs, including: headstone repair, transportation for disabled veterans, and the relocation of a veteran’s memorial.
“The projects are a great example of collaboration from conversations happening across our regions. It is inspiring to see counties thinking about how they can approach mutual concerns,” said National Joint Powers Alliance City and County Solutions Manager Anna Gruber.
3. Owatonna: for pulling together as a community — under the Roots, Shoots, and Boots coalition — to ensure all members have access to accessible and affordable healthy food.
