1. Grand Rapids: for bringing teachers, forestry and mental health professionals together to explore how the relationship with nature can improve mental health in the community.
“Studies show that nature puts up back in balance, motivates us and creates physical happiness,” said Paula Frings, Owner and CEO of Maven Perspectives, LLC. “This session will put a new spin on the importance of creating and using natural habitats, and leave you writing a prescription for the outdoors for yourself, your friends and family.”
2. Bemidji: for Northern Elementary School’s participation in celebrating healthy eating and local growers by taking a big bite out of an apple alongside one million other students in Minnesota and beyond.
3. Sartell: for breaking ground on the Sartell Community Center, which will house three gymnasiums, locker rooms, a kids’ play area, an elevated walking track, community meeting rooms, a senior center and an innovation area where people can study.
