Blandin Foundation Welcomes Newest Staff Member

sprig by Posted in Blandin Foundation

In July, Ashley Carlson joined Blandin Foundation as the Administrative Executive Assistant for our CEO, Vice President and Director of Human Resources and Board Services. In this role, she handles correspondence, travel and meeting logistics, and document management. Ashley earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the College of St. Scholastica, and will soon complete her MBA.

To get to know Ashley better, we asked her a few fun questions:

1) What can’t you live without?

My family and the outdoors.

I am very close to my family and love spending time with them. And I enjoy all outdoor activities, but especially love hiking, skiing, and spending time on the lake.

2) What is your proudest moment?

My proudest work-related moment was assisting with the writing and submission of a moratorium exception proposal. Our proposal was approved and we were able to fund a $6.5 million renovation project.

My proudest non-work-related moment was becoming an aunt for the first time this past February.

3) What do you love most about your job so far?

The people. Everyone has been so friendly and welcoming. I am excited to join a team that supports one another and remains true to their mission.

4) What does a vibrant rural community look like to you?

When I think of “vibrant,” I automatically think of “healthy,” and that stirs up images of positive relationships and teamwork.

We’re thrilled that Ashley has joined our team! Welcome!
