Poverty to prosperity
May 24, 2012 by Blandin Foundation
The Northwest Area Foundation kicks off summer with its Grassroots and Groundwork conference. This year’s conference emphasizes knowledge sharing — facilitated discussions and site visits will allow participants to learn about “proven or emerging strategies to reduce poverty and build community assets and wealth.”
Accroding to a note from NW Area Foundation staff, the event “spotlights the work of the people doing the work in rural, urban and Native reservation communities throughout the Midwest, Pacific Northwest, and around the country — work conducted by dozens of nonprofits/agencies and funded by at least as many grantmakers.”
In short, a chance to connect with those passionate about poverty and prosperity that only comes ’round every other year.
